Report of squirrel in Colorado that tests positive for bubonic plague. That does not sound very tasty and why would you test a squirrel for the plague?

I'm a little late to the party but rodents especially prairie dogs are commonly found with the bubonic plauge. We just don't freak cause this perticular plauge is easily treatable. It never hurts to be cautious of what you eat
