A little late today

Post by bandit1250 » Wed Nov 06, 2019 8:01 pm

I had things to do this morning and got in the woods late at around 9:30 AM. I didn't get 200 yds. from my car and the wind started to really blow from the west. Got pretty cold on the hands. I made a pass through a narrow woods that I hunt a few times a year and never even saw a bird of any kind. Probably only walked 3/4 of a mile total and when I got back to my car I decided to go to the sport shop and get my fur bearer licence for later this winter season. Then went home and laid under my truck for the next 3 1/2 hrs. brushing on a new coat of grease to keep it from rusting with that crap they spray on the roads now. I now have it coated underneath from bumper to bumper. Should be good to go now on the winter roads. This will be winter number 17 and it is still free of any rust anywhere on the body or underneath. No hunting today but hope to get out this week. Calling for snow early next week. I like hunting turkeys in the snow if it is not to deep.

I always told my boys. Those damned birds hid at the truck. Shoot, but not my truck. Lol

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Hey, you got out and that's a good thing. I'm sure you'll be out for another try, soon.

Wow greasing the underside. That has to take some patience. Maybe you should grease those birds Bandit so they cant get away.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

The birds will get greased with a 55 gr. Sierra from the 222 Sako. I am waiting to get a gobbler. If it gets close to the end of season the waiting for a gobbler could be put off until next year. As far as patience I really am short on that for some things.
I was so stiff the next morning after all that reaching up and stretching to reach places to get every thing coated in grease I could hardly move. A very hot shower made it feel somewhat better and now today I feel fine.
