Bunny with 327

Post by 220 » Tue Jul 06, 2021 7:10 am

Part of the reason I purchased my 327 was thinking it would make a great cheap to run small game rifle that still has enough power to handle things like small hogs, foxes and feral dogs.
I have been carrying it a bit around the farm lately in the truck or on the quad as well as when checking the trap line.
Really only have 2 loads, full house with 100gr XTP's and a load in 32S&WL cases at around 1100fps with 90gr SWC from a lee mould. The cast load is cheap, a few grains powder, primer and bullet I cast myself, component cost is less than 22lr.
Accuracy is good enough to head shoot bunnies to 50y without sizing the cast just lubed with LLA.
Not a lot of rabbits around presently but this bloke hung around a little to long this afternoon.

Good looking setup and good results. Cool

I do the same with my (actually my G'Dad's) 32-20 in a 4 1/2" Colt Bisley model SSA. I am thinking of getting a lever 327. I think that would be a nice combo.
Nice rabbit 220.
