First Deer

I took my younger brother deer hunting yesterday, his first time
hunting anything. We were in an elevated blind where I had killed a buck two days earlier with my Henry Bison Tribute 45-70. My brother was using a Henry BB 44 magnum. We had been out about 75 minutes and things were looking bleak when all of a sudden a big buck (7 points) walked up. He didn’t go to the corn but just walked off to the side and stood there. My brother readjusted his shooting position and the buck picked us up since the sun had come up and was lighting us up a little. The buck started to trot away. I could tell my brother thought he wasn’t going to get a shot so I yelled “aim a little high and shoot”. One shot and the buck dropped in his tracks. My rangefinder read 126 yards. My brother is now hooked on deer hunting and hooked on Henry rifles.
