Henry Big Boy 45 Colt strikes again

I sure love deer hunting with my Henry Big Boy Steel in .45 Colt. I handload .250 grain XTP's in front of 19 grains of 2400 and they sure put the smack down on deer out to 100 yards. Tonight I could see a doe limping through the tall grass 80 yards in front of my stand. I could just see her head as she moved through but I could tell she had been wounded. I aimed for a neck shot and dropped her in her tracks. I found that her rear right leg was broken clean below the knee and the bottom half of the bone had penetrated her hide. It looked like it had been that way for quite a while. Didn't look like a gunshot wound and she wasn't bruised or anything like she had been hit by a car. I'm glad the old .45 Henry was up to the task! relieved her suffering and put more venison in the freezer. (PS- I told you guys that there would be a lever gun in among the A.R.s at deer camp this year!)
