New Hunting Spot
New Hunting Spot
Son just purchased 72 acres in northern vermont with a furnished log cabin on a river with trout in it, 30 acres of pasture and 42 acres of forest and hills. Already seen 2 large coyotes and one deer. Really looking forward to picking out my spot for the upcoming season. Should be a great season between VT and NH!

Awesome it is! Hope my quad bypass holds up with all this excitement! Have become a slower still hunter and can sit for longer periods which are both good things.Have to brush up on VT definitions of a legal buck. They have two definitions and it differs by section of state.

I’m thinking 2-3 trail cams are just what you need. Congrats on the new spot!

Re: New Hunting Spot
Great idea! Maybe see a mountain lion that locals swear they have seen in the great north woods of NH and northern Maine and Vermont. We do have bobcat and some are fairly large. In 2012 there was a roadkill male that was hit midstate and weighed in at 60 lbs. Usually not that big. Years ago (late 60's) had a friend that raised plot and black and tan hounds for cat and bear hunts. In all his time in the woods with his dogs, he had never seen one.
