Yes the dogs worked him for 24 miles tracked on gps from 7am to 1:30 pm before bear decided to quit running / walking.
24 miles?? :shock: Damn, I only thought coon-dogs did that when they got on a deer scent! :lol: Is it common for a black bear to travel that distance when pursued / hunted? It's pretty special to have a pair of dogs that work with you, it is their reward as well as yours!

Every bear is different, usually smaller bears run faster and further before they tree. Big bears will usually back up to a tree and fight. This bear walked, ran, and fought before finally stopping.
