24 miles?? Damn, I only thought coon-dogs did that when they got on a deer scent! Is it common for a black bear to travel that distance when pursued / hunted? Every bear is different, usually smaller bears run faster and further before they tree. Big bears will usually back up to a tree and fight. This bear walked, ran, and fought before finally stopping.
