.
$69.99 per year. If the computer lasts 2 or more years. Its less expensive to buy the full Student/Home office version. Assume 2 years, Office 365 costs $140ish, at 3 years Office 365 has cost $210ish, at 4 years $280ish. Student/Home Office runs $120 max for the lifetime of the computer.

When I recently updated my computer to Win10 I was able to re-install a version of Office 2013 that I bought directly from Microsoft (for very cheap) when I was working at my school. I had saved the Email with the download link and it installed just fine. I don't need the latest, greatest version, I may do a word document a couple times a year and I have a couple of data bases. If the link hadn't worked I would have gone with one of the free open source versions.
I saved Mag's link to LibreOffice, I seemed to have some issues installing Open Office, can't remember the details but that's when I went hunting for a 7 year old email, was a little surprised I found it.
