Announcement thread above every Forum

Greetings to all Admins!

This may not be a Forum problem; I know something can always happen on my end due to trippin' thumbs.
But since I'm a solid non-techie type, have to ask anyhow.

When I select any Forum from the Board Index, there appears a block above the Forum Topics that is labelled "Announcements." It only has one thread in it titled "Hello from Alabama!", which is dated 7-14-18 (last Saturday).

I can't figure out the purpose of this Announcement. Can one of you Admins explain it to me? Or did I thumb something awry?Appreciate it.

I just realized that my moniker could be saying Poor Techie X 7

I see the same thing. Odd thing we've had new members join before without an announcement occurring. I thought there might be an overlooked tool in my profile settings that could be used to generate an announcement. Found not-ta. I let it go figuring the announcement would eventually timeout and go away. Its only been 2 days.
