I have acquiesced to Henry's policy. The rifle goes back. Admins feel free to delete post.

I was doing a detailed cleaning of rifle and lost the firing pin block spring. A miniature-type spring long gone. Henry won't replace it as it a restricted item nor am I willing to send the rifle back for a $3 spring. I assume any Henry lever-action, center fire rifle with a 1-piece firing pin with a transfer bar and firing pin block will work. These are, thus far, not available anywhere and the Wolff Gunsmith spring packs are a lost cause.

Anyone having this type spring drop me a PM if willing to part with 1 or 2.

TIA for your consideration

I sent mines back due to cooper fouling. It came back about the same. I did not spend any money. Yet, it did cost me time. The fouling is not as bad now though. I guess the rough barrel smoothed out some, the more that I shot it.

I've had luck with Chore Boy copper scrubber piece wrapped around a bore brush. Gave the bore a swab with Wipe Out or Bore Tech and let it sit for a while. Worked pretty well. OTOH, when stuff comes from factory fouled, then that is sloppy craftsmanship. I had a new Stevens semi-auto shotgun bore so fouled I could not get it cleaned out. Sent it back and Savage had it near 12 weeks. They replaced the barrel.

I agree with sloppy workmanship. I am planning to get a Steven 334 in .308, as a Christmas present. I plan to pick it up sometime next month. It is in a walnut finish. I wanted wood not plastic, even though the plastic is about $100 cheaper. Hopefully, the barrel will be fine.
