WTB - Ruger MK II Pistol Upper

Post by HenryFan » Sat Aug 15, 2026 9:01 am

I want to buy a stainless receiver w/ barrel for a Ruger MK II pistol from an established member in good standing. Preferably a 4.75" barreled receiver with fixed sights (a Standard Model, not a Target Model) but a 6" barrel is good also.

A complete receiver with bolt would be even better but if one is offered without a bolt, that is fine. I have a complete stainless lower I want to complete, that is why I am looking for a stainless receiver w/ barrel.

Go out in the garage or shop and look in those boxes, bins and cabinets to find one and get in contact with me. Be sure to look under that pile of shop rags by the jugs of tractor oil and don't forget that thing wrapped in bubble wrap behind the truck oil filters.

Thanks for looking!

It may take a while, it's not like a receiver separated from the frame is common.

Who knows, I may get lucky.

Maybe you'll luck out and find someone who purchased the Volquartsen upper.
Or... You could look at one, I hear the are tack drivers.

I'm not sure but the Volquartsenn receivers may be out of my reach financially.

Yup, I didn't want to buy one.
OK, I wanted to BUY one, I just didn't want to pay for one.
I understand they are worth every penny, quality wise... But...
Back when I was looking for a target 22 they were way too dear for my budget.

I also looked at TacSol uppers. They seem to be more affordable, at least to me, but the idea I am pursuing is a stainless, standard pistol, no target sights, no exceptionally long barrel but rather, something easy to carry and weather resistant.

I want a Chevrolet, not a Cadillac.

A pickup.

Occasionally, I try to trade the Pinto in on something newer but the stealerships just don't seem interested. Maybe I should try to trade the Yugo instead.
