A gift from my son
My son sent me a birthday gift I had picked out. He asked what I wanted and I had wanted to try the 5160 high carbon steel Buck knives that an ebay seller has had great success with. I sent him a link for a 112. The package arrived yesterday and I had just finished mowing the lawn and had gotten a text. My son advised me the package showed delivered. I went to the mailbox and there it was. I went inside, tended to more chores and then sat down for the unboxing.
I opened the knife and to my surprise I found that the blade was a drop point as opposed the the normal blade pattern on the 112. I really wanted to try that on a 110 I saw. I was glad I hadn't paid attention when I sent him the ebay link.
This morning when I photographed it to share here, I was even more pleased when I saw that it was serialized. I looked up the ebay listing, and found it was a first run production.
