Fixed Blade Sheath Knife
with the advent of the Buck 110 Folding Hunter back in 1965 I put my fixed blade sheath knives in a drawer and had no desire to dig them back out ... left to right in the center picture below -- 2 Old Timer skinners, a Western fillet knife, 2 Uncle Henry fillet knives that I've had since the early 1960's .... the second from the right is a Buck 75th Anniversary 119 that I've had for a couple of years .... the one on a right is a handmade blade that I've had for about a week .... most of the time I still carry 3 folding blades .... two are worn in a sheath on my belt, they are my latest 110 Folding Hunter (reserved for use with food) and a Leatherman with 2 blades .... the third is a Buck Bantam single blade.... the new had forged knife has me thinking about carrying it from time to time and has me wondering how many folks still carry fixed blade sheath knife ??

They don't like sheath knives at work and they aren't very popular in town. Always carry my benchmade clipped in my pocket and CC when not at work.
I have a couple sheath knives but not as nice as yours.

Re: Fixed Blade Sheath Knife
kind words appreciated .... as noted in the opening post, all but two of my fixed blade sheath knives are 60+/- years old .... all of them are regular, production hunting/fillet/work knives .... the Old Timers have regular steel blades, the others are made of some sort of stainless .... the blade in the Western fillet knife is OK but isn't as good as any of the others

Re: Fixed Blade Sheath Knife
I have a dozen fixed blades, and carried one when flying, deployed, or in the field during my time on active duty. Usually the issued kbar, jealous of a few fellow Marines that had scored Randall made knives. In my second career, 95% of the time I carried a folder, usually a Benchmade.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

Re: Fixed Blade Sheath Knife
This is the very first fixed blade knife my Dad ever bought me. I still have it. I think I was 14 at the time because I had just got into hunting with him. It was made in Germany and real bone handle.

As many years have passed, my field dressing knife has now transformed into this.
