How do you sharpen a gut hook?

Post by Ozarkwoodswalker » Thu Dec 13, 2018 12:40 pm

I finally after many years of cutting up various beasties, tried out the gut hook on my knife, (on of all things a squirrel) it actually unzipped the little rascal pretty slick. So now it occurs to me if I keep using it on various beasties, it too will need to be sharpened to stay useful. Anyone here tell me the best way to sharpen a gut hook? Thanks

I use a Dremel type tool with a rotary bit that uses sandpaper as the grinding agent
