Just wanted to show a Saami knife that I bought at an auction yesterday, I didnt plan to buy it but I fell in love with it so I placed a reasonable bid and won. I really admire the craftmanship, and love the history and traditions of the Swedish Saami people, will try to look in to the history of the knife since the knife is signed it may be possible to identify who made the knife and when. :)

That is one cool knife. The sheath threw me off, but that looks like a Puukko style knife. It is one of the handiest styles of knife. It is also one of my favorites. Please keep us posted on this knife

I got some more information about the knife, I got in touch with the blacksmith that made the blade and he said he made it in the late 80s. He is the 3rd generation blacksmith his great grandpa started the blacksmith Named Kuorbevare Smide. Here is his website http://rb-blad.se/smide/category/produkter/ (the site is in Swedish) but you see the blades he is making. So the knife is probable made around the late 80s so its about 30years old and probably never used. Trying to get some information about the signature on the sheath to identify the maker of the knife, but it may be hard to find out.
