I wanted one side serrated as I find it's easier to cut rope with when the smooth side is a little dull. Was a little hard to find as I definitely wanted a Microtech. I guess knife manufacturers are having the same issues as everyone, it's amazing how many knifes are out of stock at all the on line knife sites. Important to only shop at authorized dealers as just like most things now there are a lot of counterfeits out there.

I made a somewhat similar sheath back when I was shooting black powder and going to rendezvous's. Knife wasn't really very practical, I guess it might have been handy if I had to have fought off a bear.RanchRoper wrote: ↑Mon Dec 26, 2022 6:54 pmI ordered one of these just recently, just liked the look of it.

I had a knife similar to this. It had a wooden sheath that a friend of mine had covered with leather and then beaded, very nice but unfortunately someone broke into my place and stole it. Had a pretty good idea who broke in but no proof, only things missing was that knife and sheath, some other bead work she had done for me and my lynx hat.

This one carried on me in the Marine Corps for many years and it went to DS with me, where it got tip modified during downtime. The original canvas/nylon sheath wore/rotted away so I found this heavy duty nylon web and Velcro universal sheath that fits the bill. This knife was retired to display/storage shelf with the advent of civilian employment. To many snowflakes were intimidated.

Here are a pair of Griptilians that I made sure I got as they discontinued the hollow grind blades. I'll carry the black one, the blue is two small for me to be comfortable one-handing.

And here is my every day I leave my property, groceries or chauffeuring the beloved wife on her weekly rounds, and anytime we go out to socialize - this goes. Easy to grab, easy to stash/cover.
You might notice the red handled Benchmark Proper in the pocket sheath with the pen and light. There is also the Gerber multitool.

And everyday for the last three (or so? maybe four?) years, the first thing in my pocket when I get up, whether I am staying in comfy cozy flannels or getting duded up for work or simply putting on work-'round-the-house clothes, is this Benchmade 940. It is also the last thing to come out and be on my nightstand at the end of the day.
