there is a show on Direct TV's "Liquidation Channel" called the Knife Show/Cutlery Corner .... they push brands of knives like Hen and Rooster, Valley Forge, Chipaway and numerous others that I've never heard of .... at the prices they show, its hard to see how the knives can be very high quality .... comments from anyone who has experience with any of these knives would be appreciated

Good question. Yes, comments & experience would be interesting to read from folk. I've been looking at some kitchen cutlery from Victorinox, and that company makes top-quality knives out of very good stainless steel. I've heard of Valley Forge, but know nothing about their products.

I don't know anything about that show. We don't have a cable or a dish connection for television. We do have a cable connection for our internet.

My husband did buy a simple 3 piece set of plastic red handled knives made by Victorinox for under $20.00 at our local Sportsman's Warehouse store.

He used them at work before he recently retired, a bit in the kitchen and at some picnics. He still uses them on and off in the kitchen and I have used them too. Those V. knives are not bad for inexpensive kitchen paring knives. We don't have the other models. He did keep a few of his V. Swiss Army knives.

My husband and I had several older knives that we gave to friends and to charity.

Some of the older Hen and Rooster knives ARE famous, well made knives and collectible like the old BOKER - completely Made in Germany, Case, Schrade, Buck, etc. knives. My MT husband, my late husband and I had several older folding and pocket knives with some of our older military knives too.

My MT husband had an OLD Hen and Rooster pocket knife but I can't remember the model now. Sorry.

that's pretty much what I thought .... they apparently sell bunches of items .... I'm sure some of their foreign made blades are pretty good but I can't tell one from the other
