I searched and didn't see any topics about knives and guns. I will make this a sticky in the knife section as well as knives and hats and knives and food.

Here is a nice pair. I really like the Buck Auto knife.

Very nice! I didn't know Buck made an auto, guess I'll have to find one. How's the lock up on it? I've an older 110 that's one of my favorites. Btw, wouldn't it technically be a semi-auto knife? ;)

I like that Buck.....and the Ruger....damn now I need one of each. The Buck will be easier to find. I like my Buck 112 slim but it opens way slower than I would like. My Kershaw flipper is fast but the blade is a tad smaller and not as robust.

Not cheap but not a bad price for a quality automatic knife. Around what I paid for my Benchmade and my Microtech autos.

Gene,

I have a Buck Auto 110 and the Auto 110 elite ( pictured above) The brass and wood auto was the first year they made them I think. It's action is crisp and sure feeling. The elite is Smooooooth feeling. Just about crisp, but very smooth. I think it is a hair or two slower than the brass and wood one. I love them both and carry one of them often. In NY, they are legal for persons going to and from or engaged in hunting and fishing if they have a valid license for hunting or fishing.

My Match Grade Springfield .45 was built for me for PPC competition. I had one of the guys on line make a pair of Spalted Maple grips for it, from wood I had brought from my Virginia farm when I moved. I made a Tanto Knife from the same piece of wood.

I have a nice set of cocobolo grips for the Springfield as well, and to really push my skill set I made a custom knife to go with those grips as well. Damascus Blank, Cocobolo Scales, nickel silver and real turquoise from the mine in AZ. Note the pins in the nickel silver bolster and end caps are dog prints. :D

The cocobolo grips

Daily Carry? My Smith and Wesson M&P 340 357 Scandium Frame and a Benchmade Sentinel. The knife has long been discontinued and was my duty knife for years. Lightweight titanium frame, but solid blade, made it a fast opener. We were legal for automatics, but this was faster than all those. It was used a lot and even though the distributors often gave me various makes and models for T&E I always came back to this one. Still carry it when I leave the house.

The 340 is so light you can forget you are carrying it. BUT, with that light weight it doesn't soak up recoil. Your hand and wrist will file an OSHA complaint if you fire full house Magnum loads during practice. I shoot .38 loads during practice, then a single cylinder of magnums at the end to insure I can put them center of mass. They "Sting a Bit." Okay, a LOT. But, if I needed the gun in a real world situation... I doubt I would feel it until much later. I carry three Bianchi Speed strips, 18 rounds, for reloads.

Marine, I can live vicariously through your shooting such a light weight revolver with .357s. I have never wanted to do it and I chose the all stainless 640 pro for just that reason. The 640 has a stout recoil that I can manage in .357. I wouldn't want to manage anything as light as your 340 in a magnum.
Your knives are wonderful. Great work.

Thanks for posting the great photos. I have one ? How can a 1911 be marked "A-1" without the arched mainspring housing? If I remember correctly one of the "improvements" of the 1911 in about 1924 was the arched mainspring housing along with the scalloped frame behind the trigger and the shorter reach for the trigger. I know I like shooting my 1937 National Match A-1 better than my other 1911 with the flat grip.
