folding knife's

Post by biglever » Sun Sep 11, 2016 8:23 am

Dug out a few folding knife's and took some pic.
I never paid any attention to this girl scout knife,
My father used it to sharpen his carpenter pencil's
I use it all the time, it sets on my reloading bench
Right in front of my case trimmer.
Cleaning it up for it's picture takeing I read the blade stamp. It was made in Utica NY. By kutmaster company. Being from NY. I serched it up. There web. Site doesn't no anything about girl scout knife's. So I sent them an email. Asking for info. See what happens.
The world fare knife I bought from my old gun shop That I use to go too. Thats long gone.
Don't know if you can see it very well.
One side has the space shuttle , and a Indian at. A camp fire. The other has a likeness of Daniel Boom
With the name Boone, Crockett, Jackson .
And a log cabin.
Then my SAK. And a Broker tree brand classic that I never used don't know why I got it. ?
And my nail clippers that have a knife blade and a bottle opener and can opener. I just picked up the
Gerber Shard. Thats a neet tool to put on a key ring etc. Has a pry bar Philips screw driver reg screw driver , bottle opener.

Cool knives, I never thought that there would be a Girl Scout knife. I wish I still had my Boy Scout knife.
Having one that you dad used makes it a real treasure.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday. ;)

Very nice collection, big lever --- and thanks for sharing your stories behind your collection.

I thought the Gerber Shard was cool...never saw one of those before. Along with my EDC, I carry an "executive screwdriver' with my coins. My Dad gave it to me years ago. It's about the size of a quarter, and the edge widens all the way around to give you different size flat heads. Always neat to have a compact tool in your pocket for whenever needed.

Not surprising to see your SAK. Many folk have those useful blades and multi-tools.
Thanks for posting these neat photos!

Those are nice knives. The Girlscout knife is a definite prize. A local upstate made knife. I have a few Boyscout knives made by Camillus.

Thanks for sharing those with us. I thought the photographs were nice.

Girl scout update
A woman email ed. Me first thing this morning
Said to send her a pic. She said they made scout knife's in the 70's and. 80's.
I told her I would have guessed it was older than 70's.
Will see. I told her it will be later today.

And now the rest of the story.
First I want to say, I give this company an A plus plus. For customer service. Even if you haven't been a customer for over 40 yrs.
This woman was quick , with her emails.
After I sent her a couple pic.s. she sent me anothe question. About how many blades the knife had, and what the blades were. About an hour later she
Wright's me back. That this knife was made between 1973 and 1979.
Don't know how many were made.
And That's the Way it Was.
