Knife my brother made for me a few years back
I got my younger brother into blacksmithing during a rough patch in his life, I was trying to give him a hobby to occupy his mind a bit. He took to it wrll.
Later he sends me this blade and asked if I could di the heat treat and tempering. Being such a nice piece I sent it to Peters Heat Treat in Pennsylvania for a prifessional job, and they delivered in spades.
The steel is 5160 from a leaf spring from a tandem axle Mack dumptruck. Peters did a cryo cycle and then brought it up slowly up to temp and its tough as I dont know what. I called my brother when I got it back and he asked if I would do the bevel and handle it, I agreed. When those were done I was going to ship it back to him and he just said Merry Christmas and told me to keep it. I tried to talk him out of it but he said it was mine. He made this thing with the mist basic of tools and equipment and I think he did an amazing job.

How long is that blade? Looks like about 8" compared to the gun.
Nice revolver by the way.

Sorry Ive been away for a good while.
Markiver54 the blabe measures 8 3/8" so very good eye. How'd you do that? 1 11/16"x 1/4" are the other dimensions. Overall length is 13 1/2".
