Victorinox triple-play

Post by PT7 » Fri Sep 09, 2016 6:34 pm

It has been a good couple of days at the mailbox and front door this week.
I've been awaiting a trio of Victorinox items for a while now, and all are in hand at last.

SAK Farmer
My knife collection is still quite small, but I've now added a new Victorinox knife. It's only my third SAK, and is added to my 33-year-old Climber model multi-tool, and my recently-purchased Pro Hunter model. Here is my Farmer in Silver Alox ribbed color. Silver is probably my most favorite color, barely ahead of black and grey. The knife is the exact same size as my Climber, with slightly less and different multi-tools. The saw blade was a surprise to me....very sharp, and I'm certain the high quality & long-lasting stainless steel I've enjoyed in my first SAK for so many years.

Victorinox Sheath

Ah, this belt-carry sheath is the perfect size/fit and color for my silver Farmer. Of course, it also will hold my Climber. I happened to find this sheath at Knife Port, and knew it was a great match for my color likes! :)

Victorinox Sharpener
After all the good help/pointers from Henry folk on knife sharpening and sharpening tools, I decided to start very simply. I purposefully looked at hand-held Victorinox sharpening tools, and found a basic model. I'll try it out first on my older knives, and go from there. I still think I may someday try a more quality kit such as the Lansky. But for this newbie, basic & simple is a good place for now.

So this has been my "triple-play" for September. Actually, it does feel more like a "home run!" :D

Trust everyone will have a refreshing & great weekend!

That farmer knife is aptly named. All the blades are perfect for a farmer. That's a nice trio of Victorinox. Good job on your selections.

Good looking knife, I have a smaller one with one blade, a nail file/flat tip, and scissors.
Yours looks to be at least double it's size. And more useful.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday. ;)

Looks nice and useful. I'm not a big fan of belt carry in a sheath since it gets a little bulky.

Looking good. Glad you got a sharpener you're comfy with. FWIW I think that type will take off metal as it sharpens as a stone will, but know that a steel rod staightens the edge not actually making a new edge, rather it bends back the edge. As a knife dulls the edge will bend over. ;)

Can't beat a Victorinox. I have dozens of them that I've bought used.
