Well, got my new toy a few days back. And, finally put it together a couple of days ago. It is nice, and it is also heavy. I think it will do a great job at catching pellets. I probably will not try it out until later this year. I will probably spend most of my free time at the range with my Henry or Marlins. But, it will probably get some use with time (or conditions) does not permit a range run.

Looked at some but have not taken the bait yet. May I ask where you bought it and what the cost was?

We use some heavy steel rimfire rated traps and they are heavy. Is yours 22 LR rated?

I got it at Amazon.com. Including taxes, I paid $49 and some change.

All it claims is a max of .22 cal rimfire rating. But, the company's site is www.highwildoutdoors.com.

I have something similar made by the J.C. Higgins company.
Mine is rated for .22lr and has caught more .22's and pellets than I care to count.

Mine must be at LEAST 35 years old and still works great.
I have a Crosman pellet pistol that I practice with while watching t.v.

Watch out for lead dust when using a steel trap indoors.... a soft trap with a layer of rubber mulch and duct seal ( heavy clay) works well without generating so much dust.

I have one like it rated for .22lr I believe that the minimum distance for that is 25 yards. I have only used it for .177 pellets. Works great for them at shorter range. I shoot with it at about 30 feet in my garage. I did notice that my targets shredded when just hanging a paper target alone. Backing the target on a piece of cardboard helped to get a cleaner hole. I also noticed that I would get fragments of pellets bouncing out of the trap occasionally. Clipping an old magazine behind the target stopped that.

I’ve got one similar to this one. Bought it back when the original designer/owner was selling them. Probably around 1997 or so.
