I finally got some trigger time

Post by daytime dave » Sat May 21, 2016 11:36 am

I have been working for three weeks without a day off so far. I hadn't pulled a trigger lately except on ebay. I decided that after mowing my parents lawn, I would take a few shots. I had my 853 Avanti with me. I took two cans from their recycling bin, paced off about 10 or 11 meters and used dad's raised bed soil as a rest. I was using some vintage German pellets. Two strings of two shots.
Four shots, four hits, then time to go. At least it was trigger time and very enjoyable too.

You are one of the hardest working men in NY state, if not the country, DD. Glad you got to shoot, even if it was only four shots! Now, get back to work! ;)

Hey four shots is four shots. I'll sometimes do the same thing except I'll do it a few times a day.

Well, better than nothing, but you need a break DD!

If you stress out and go down then we have to rely on Sir Henry and our goose is cooked again. I don't want to start over on a third Henry forum!

Can't see the pics, but looked online and that is a NICE GUN.

I've gotten so into airguns lately that I haven't actually shot a firearm in a few months. They're perfect for the back yard.

I think shooting the big springer has made me a better shot. It's like I had to learn to shoot all over again, but with proper technique...LOL.

I really think my next "anything" purchase is gonna be a German springer, RWS or Weihrauch if I can swing it.........

I'm not sure if that's concern for me or dread of the alternative, :D

Not to worry, I actually love both jobs. I just need a break. I'll tell you what has been stressing me lately, I have been trying to get that ^&*#@ little favicon installed without downing the forum. So far, no luck. lol

That is a refabed 853 from the Civilian Marksmanship program. Here is a link.
It's a great value for what you pay and what it gives in return.

Scroll down and you'll see them for just $100.oo still.
