Good old Sheridan
10 shots today with my old Sheridan pump. Approx 20 yards. Still have barrel separation issue, so for now believe it or not, have a zip tie tightly around it to hold the barrel in place. IMO...pretty happy with results...all considered. No squirrel is safe!

Re: Good old Sheridan
No squirrels are safe is right. Nice shooting. Back in the day (way back) I used my old trusty Sheridan for a LOT of my squirrel hunting with those old yellow box cylindrical Sheridan pellets. Not the most accurate pellets, but super penetration. Now I use the JSB 20 cal pellets and shoot our Sheridans just for fun. For sure, we have some very pricey English and German made air rifles, but to me, I'll always think of Sheridans, first, when it comes to air guns.

Very nice NCG. I do hope to get mine up to snuff and even better in the near future.
Once again...lousy picture taking...

Have you tried the JB Weld trick to take care of the barrel separation issue? I did it on one of mine and it's been holding fine for two years, now.

Re: Good old Sheridan
Thanks NCG, you did recommend that to me a while back, but have not tried it yet. Do I lift barrel and put underneath, or just on the sides with barrel clamped down..or both? Also didn't know which of their products to buy. Last I looked, it appeared they had a few different compositions?North Country Gal wrote:Have you tried the JB Weld trick to take care of the barrel separation issue? Lift up the barrel you can do so without further damage, then clamp tight for a couple days. That's what I did. I just used the old gray standard JB stuff that's been around, forever.

Re: Good old Sheridan
Thank you, I will try that! As you know very well, that small bolt has to endure a lot of pressure. At least mine does when cocking that little bolt. Have tried to be very conscious to just pull back and not up. Takes a good pull with pinky finger to the point It gets sore after several pulls. Love this air gun and want to do whatever it takes to make it last. Actually...it has become one of my favorite shooters! Thank you NCG...North Country Gal wrote:Lift up the barrel you can do so without further damage, then clamp tight for a couple days. That's what I did. Pellets are just Benjamin 14.3 gr .20 cal cylindrical.Henry88 wrote:That's good shootin for 20 yds. What kind of pellets?
NCG recommends some others that I have yet to try, but will in the future. I still have over 500 of these.
