My springer shooting summer

With my husband's current health issues, we have not loaded up the car and made a trip to the range to burn up some ammo this summer. It's been a stay at home and shoot in the backyard kind of summer for me. The only powder burning I've done this summer is the rimfire variety with quiet, but less than match grade quality ammo.

Nope, this summer has been mostly air guns and though I always mix it up, shooting all types of air guns, most of the shooting, as always, has been with my springers (spring piston air rifles). Springers to me are the air gun equivalent of shooting single action revolvers in the powder shooting world.

Been shooting springers for decades, now, so although PCPs are the ultimate in air gun accuracy, I can get the same ball park accuracy with my springers. Here's some pics of what I've been doing this summer with the springers.

HW30N
Bought this one right after we sold off our TC Contender collection. The HW30N is a special, limited edition of the HW30 with a walnut stock.

HW35E
I've always shot this fine, medium power walnut stocked springer with a peep sight, but this summer I decided to scope it and see what it could do.

FWB Sport
This has always been my go to break barrel springer for accuracy, even though the recoil is sharp and stout. Loud and powerful, not a springer for beginners, but oh so accurate.

RWS/Diana 45
Fine vintage springer, made in 1983, but still in great shape.

Slavia 631
This is a CZ (yes, that CZ, made in the Czech Republic) springer in 177. These were imported to the US back in the 90s. Nice little low powered springer. Bill found it at an auction for me. Paid 60 bucks for it.

HW50S
Medium powered springer, one of my favorites

Shot this group from up on my deck.

Just to let everyone know, my husband is getting better, so we are still hoping to make a trip to the range before winter. In the meantime, I'll just keep shooting in the backyard.

I think I just overdosed on pretty guns and targets. Best wishes for Bill, and you as well.

Hope Bill gets better. Those are some fine springers. I think you are getting more range time than I am.

I hope Bill gets well enough for a trip to the powder range. Nice shooting NCG and Im glad you are able to shoot from home at least for some shooting therapy and enjoyment.
