What is your opinion of the Umarex Komplete Nitroair PCP Rifle?

I have no experience with it since it is a new concept in PCP air rifles, meaning it uses a one time use, disposable nitrogen cartridge to fill the reservoir instead of needing to use a pump or compressor to fill the reservoir. I like that idea, pretty neat. Just drop in a nitrogen cartridge like you drop in a CO 2 cartridge and you get 3600 psi which is a standard PCP pressure these days. Hope it catches on because it would go a long way to eliminate one of the biggest issues in PCP, namely, the need to use a pump or compressor.

Given it's a new concept, it's understandable that one single cartridge right now cost $25. That means that each fill will cost $25 and given you get an advertised 45 shots per fill, you're running about 50 cents per shot. If the system catches on, though, that cost would come down a lot, I'm sure.

As for the rifle itself and quality, performance, I have no idea. Umarex is at the affordable end of the PCP market and makes some very serviceable air guns, but we're not talking FX, Daystate and so on. If those premium brands adopt the system, it's a sure thing.

Would I buy one? No, because we already have a compressor for our PCPs. Neat concept for sure, though. Just remember that the jury is out at this point as to how popular the concept will be.

The nitrogen cartridges are 2 for $25.00. The rifle has received good reviews but the scope is not the best. I ordered one and will let you know how it performs.

Sighted the rifle in today, scope is ok for the effective distance and the rifle is nicely designed. For $200.00 I think it is a great value. Bought the rifle directly from Umarex, packaging was nicely done and the shipping was prompt.
