Loving the rifle. Probably shot close to 100 rds. so far. Mentioned peep sights and scopes on one of my range reports. Think I"m gonna try the peep sight and see if I like it. Guess if I don't like it, will have no other choice but a scope.

A good red dot is another possibility. I've used a Burris Fastfire on on of our HW30s. Very easy to use. You just need a 3/8" to weaver adapter on the rail first and then add a standard red dot.

Here's the adapter plus red dot on one of my other springers.

I have a red dot on one of my .22's and like it. I been reading about scopes not made for airguns want last. I haven't thought about a red dot. I might lean more towards a red dot than a peep sight. Decisions, decisions..

As long as you use a quality red dot, no problem on a springer, especially on a light springer like the 30. Only issue is that way up close at 10 yards, you will get some parallax (movement of the dot off the target if you vary your eye position), but it varies with the model and type of dot. The Burris in my pic, for instance, has very little. Once you move back to 15 or 20 yards, it becomes a non-issue.

I think I’m going with a red dot. Looking at the Hawke Red Dot, and looks like it has the size dovetail mount on the sight. Wouldn’t need adapter….right?

As long as you get one of their 9-11mm rail versions, you're good to go. Just don't get one of their Weaver versions.

Red Dot got here today. Not much time to sight it in, but got close. Pretty busy weekend so unless I can squeeze in a little time tomorrow, will probably be after weekend before I can shoot more. Did post a quick range report though.
