HW 30S

Post by graywolf » Mon Nov 21, 2022 10:11 pm

New HW30S arrived today. No time for shooting today but had to try it. 3 shots from new shooting chair that I haven’t got to use yet. Sun filtering thru trees wasn’t best time for shooting or taking pictures. Here’s a couple pictures. I’m hoping tomorrow I can really check out Gun and chair. Shooting from 15 yds.

Looking good. Remember, too, that any HW will shoot smoother after a couple of tins of pellets and accuracy can also get better as the gun gets shot, so just keep shooting.

A new gun is always so much fun trying for the first time. Congrats GW.

Loving the gun. The shooting chair is gonna be good also I think—-after I get all the adjustments figured out. I had to improvise a table using the tailgate of my UTV. You don’t want to leave your gun on the chair and get up. Chair will tip over. I almost found that out the hard way—almost. Looks like I’m shooting about the same kind of groups as I do my .22’s. These old eyes and open sights don’t go good together. Here’s some pictures. Oh, and that’s at 15 yds.

You're doing great. You can expect your HW30 to shoot rimfire like groups out to about 30 yards or a bit more. Beyond that, you need a day of calm wind and otherwise excellent shooting conditions. On such days, though, I have shot sub one inch groups at 50 yards.

I'm glad you like the chair too. I'm looking forward to more reports on this rifle.

Looks like I need to find another type backing to tack targets too. Been using the rubber cattle trailer mat, but some pellets ricochet off it. Is it ok to post airgun results in Range Reports?

Absolutely. It IS a range report. A valid one at that.👍
