Back yard Airgun shooting

I decided to get out my airguns and give them some love here in the last week. Im glad I did as the HW 95 scope had some issues. I called Airguns of Az about warranty on the scope. There reply was send it back and we will send you a new one. Those guys have been great to deal with. So the scope is on its way back. I got out the HW 97 and shot it for a spell. That 97 is a great gun. Its a little heavy for off hand work but shooting it from the bench its accuracy is amazing. Im not as good as NCG but here is one of the targets I shot with it.

That is excellent airgun shooting with the 97, right there with anyone's, including mine. Nice work, Al. I find that the extra weight of under levers like the 97 does help absorb some of that springer recoil and that does help when shooting groups. As you've said, though, that weight can be an issue for offhand shooting. That's why my under lever springers mostly collect dust, these days. My break barrel springers get most of my attention.

Speaking of weight, I've found that going light on both the scope AND the mount actually helps reduce scope problems on my springers. Less weight on your scope setup means less recoil induced torque. It's worked wonders for me on some of my hard shooting springers.

Kind words appreciated NCG. Ive been suspect for a while with the scope on the 95. Point of impact seemed to not stay in the same place. Hopefully this replacement will tell the rest of the story.

Al best of luck on the replacement scope. In my experience, though, even springer rated scopes can go bad. The most important thing about a "springer" rated scope is that it is under warranty if the scope goes bad.

Both guns have the Hawke scopes on them. The one on the 95 came with the gun. According to A OF A they told me lifetime warranty so that is a good thing

Pretty hard to beat AoA for airgun purchases as far as service and reliability. We've bought most of our guns from them.

Way to eat up the X ring on that target.

Very nice Al. I hope the scope exchange does the trick.
