Just pure fun

I recently made two purchases of air guns for no other reasons other than just PURE FUN. That's what they are. I was in a Gander Outdoors and was looking over the firearms counter, handguns to be exact. They had some interesting revolvers. Nothing I was going to buy or look at though. Then I headed over to the airguns. I looked over the poor selection they had and I spied an M1A1 Thompson. It was fully automatic. It didn't say if it was semi auto also. It was in a plain looking box. It was just before Father's day. I hemmed and hawed and left without it. I went back a week later and it was gone. I did my homework on line and discovered they are accurate and semi automatic also. They are good for at least two magazine loads of air. It sounded fun. I had fired a real machine gun, so this would be a cool similarity. An order to Pyramid Air and a few days later my Thompson arrived. Accurate was right. On my 10 meter indoor range, it did great. On full auto it brought a rare smile to my face. It was PURE FUN. The first five were semi auto and the rest were full auto till out. The firing stops when the magazine is empty. The second magazine I fired five semi auto and then tried controlled bursts. What fun. It was still accurate with bursts. Out at the new place I tried to see how long I could shoot on the original two air cylinders. Six magazines and ten rounds into the seventh before it was not penetrating the cardboard box. Out at the farm I had moved to 15 yards. It was still very accurate, especially for a smoothbore BB gun.
Fast forward to July 4th or thereabouts. Pyramid Air had a 10% off sale. So................the MP40 qualified for that sale. Yup it arrived a few days ago and went out to the farm. It does not seem as accurate as the Thompson. The rate of fire is a lot slower than the Thompsons too. It is more in line with the "real" firearms I think. It too is PURE FUN.
