Did you consider the Umarex Origin at all when looking at PCP rifles?

Yes I did. I decided to go with all CO2 air guns for the next year. I currently have five either received, shipped or on order. If I went directly to PCP I might not want to go CO2 after.

Been looking at both. After a little more research I decide that the Benjamin Fortitude would be a better choice.

Based on my experience, it would depend on what you used for an air source in PCP as to whether or not you'd be tempted to stop with CO2 afterwards and, even then, no matter what you use for fills, CO2 still has some nice convenience advantages. We now use a compressor to fill our PCP guns, but we still shoot our CO2 guns. Sure is nice to drop an inexpensive CO2 cartridge in your gun and go shoot. Then, too, CO2 has the market on reproduction air guns cornered.
As for the PCP market, that's where all the research and development is in the air gun world. The Avenger, Fortitude and similar affordable PCP rifles are hugely popular. Over on my air gun forum, that's the level of PCP that gets all the discussion. Very, very little discussion on the high end stuff like my Daystate. As I've mentioned before, even our budget class Discovery PCP can compete with our most expensive spring piston rifles. Love our Daystate PCPs, but those are the equivalent of a very expensive, high end gun in the rimfire world. You're paying a premium for the beautiful walnut and metal finishing. You don't have to spend anywhere near that much for a PCP that will shoot like most rimfire rifles.

NCG, what airgun forum do you participate on? I go to GTA when I get the spare moment here and there. I have had little time lately, but find that place to be worth it when I can visit.

Dave, yeah, I'm a GTA junkie. Post over there a lot, especially under the German air gun gate, what with all our HW, FWB and RWS springers. NCG over there, same as here.

Thank you. It's the only one I go to if I go to any air gun forum.
Al, thanks for the laugh.
