Mine isn't too bad but a tad lighter would help. The pull is different. It has the same amount of pull the entire pull.

Wow, sorry to be away so long, crazy busy with company in town.............

I just bought one at acadamy $25. I looked through a stack for a nice stock....LOL

My only thought is, how can they sell this for $25.

I did have one as a kid. It was the basic model without the wood front stock and saddle ring.

This new one blows that away. better sights, shoots dead on, never FTF/FTF. Accurate and FUN.

Only bad side is a hard mushy trigger, but its a bb gun..............

Should be standard issue for any Henry Forum member.

I have been collecting Red Ryders for 30-years. Lost count over the years of how many I own. I have one Red Ryder and a Model 25 bought from Wally World that I shoot soda cans with at about 20-25 feet. Red Ryders are lots of fun to shoot, but not very accurate due to smooth bore, low power, hard trigger pull. Still fun to shoot and a good challenge!

Always, Always wear eye protection when shooting a BB gun.

If you want a "special one", google "Daisy Museum" and visit their web page. Daisy and the Daisy Museum are located in Rogers, Arkansas.

I love shooting them because you can see the BB flying. Its like watching a pitcher throw a curve ball.

I will match my Daisy 499 smooth bore at 10 meter against any gun offhand .. My 1938 Red Rider is a good shooter at 10 meters .

Nice shooting! My 499 is also very accurate.

I have shot indoor 10-meter competition almost every week for about 5-years, but I don't use a Red Ryder. Mostly I use a HW30S or and Airforce Edge.

I also shoot a IZH 46M that I like really well.

I sometimes will pick mine up and shoot twenty shots or so. I was doing this from the hip yesterday and I could see the bb going straight and then going foul. I'm shooting out my bedroom window at metal objects hanging from a tree. Just used a rangefinder and its 13 meters. Those last few meters is what makes the bb's go astray.

Unfortunately the IZH's have become very expensive. I was lucky and bought mine used in excellent condition. I shoot against about 10 others using IZH's and all of them shoot well with the IZH.

Bench rested at 10 meters my IZH will put ten shoots through the same hole like the rest of them, which is far better than I can shoot it standing. Mine is easy to cock, and has a great trigger as set up by the previous owner. It is of course designed for short range (10-meters) and mine shoots at 350-375 feet per second if I remember correctly.

Those are neat ads. But mine doesn't hold a thousand rounds.

What I love about this BB gun is I can open the window and pop off a dozen or so rounds at the metal coffee pot hanging in a tree. No loading up the car, driving to the range, unloading everything, shooting, loading everything back up, driving back, and then unloading again.

That's a great idea and BB's are cheap...maybe the wife's bird feeders....kidding. That would be grounds for divorce in my house.

But if you scare off the neighbor's pesky cat, you'll end up a hero :D

BTW, mine, (like most guns I shoot and so maybe me), shoots a little to the left, but is very consistent. Holds 650, i use the zinc plated, and within 50 ft consistantly hits cans, or whatever.

As previously stated, should be standard issue for everyone on this forum :D

Shooting a cat or dog with a BB gun could put you in jail in most states . I have a slingshot and ex- loud firer crackers . I can shoot a firer cracker in a slingshot over 25 yds next to a cat or dog . :D After a couple time they stay far , far away from my house . If I see a cat across the street I can clap my hand and they take off running ......

We have 3 cats at home here to keep the mice under control both in and out of the house, and they do a pretty good job. But having a target set up to plink with the Red Ryder once in awhile would be fun.
