Relaxing plinking

I happened to catch my Beeman QB-78 out of the corner of my eye as I left the laundry room. I grabbed it and a few new CO2 cylinders and went out to the deck. I shot my Crosman dueling tree for a while and sipped on a Canadian whiskey and water. 10 - 15 minutes of relaxation. Couldn't be beat.

Definitely sounds like a fun and relaxing time.
Because it was with your Beeman, I will mention my day today with my HW95 Luxus.

I spotted a racoon yesterday in the middle of the day in the street in front of my house. It was staggering. I think we all know what that probably means......rabies. There have been reports on the local news recently of rabid racoons. In talking to the neighbors, I learned that others had also seen this coon during the day. We have small children and a lot of pets in the surrounding yards.

This morning my next-door neighbor called me quite concerned. the coon was in her fenced yard and her beautiful Sheltie was going crazy. The coon had gone up a large Oak tree in her yard.

Well, it may go without saying that the Weihrauch came through perfectly with a very humane kill shot between the eyes. I take no pleasure in killing the coon, however, my neighbor was VERY thankful that I could eliminate the threat. She even took her beloved dog for a rabies booster shot to be safe.

Sorry Dave. I know this is not about pleasurable plinking, but it was very fresh on my mind. When I saw your Beeman I thought I would add my little story.

Hey Mark, you were “plinking with purpose”. Nothing wrong with either activity.

I agree Mark. As you know, any discussion about air guns on the forum is one of my favorites! I enjoy them immensely and don't get enough time with them either.
I applaud you for doing what was necessary. I'm sure the neighbor(s) appreciate what you did. I defend my garden and it's bounty with air and powder as the law allows.
On a side note, for shorter distances, that Beeman is very accurate with most all pellets. It's one of my favorites. It does have trouble flipping the larger paddles at times, as all of my .177 CO2 and pump guns do. It was fun.

Mark, you did the right thing. You just can't take a chance with something like that and a coon out wandering in the middle of the day around people and pets does suggest it is sick or desperate for food. Not good. Good to hear the HW did a good job for you.
