A mixed bag

Post by daytime dave » Sun Sep 04, 2016 8:51 am

In an almost guilty pleasure moment, I had 20 minutes yesterday to do some shooting. I was at my parents place to take care of the yard. I picked up a spare mower, brought out the bikes for a ride with the girlfriend and I brought a mixed bag of air guns in case there was time.

After I finished a six hour day of errands and lawn mowing, I got out some air pistols a friend lent me. A Beeman P1 and a Daisy.

This target was shot with the pistols and my Avanti 853 rifle. The top left are the Avanti grouping. I like it when they all hit and touch. All shots were free hand standing.

I shot another target with my Benjamin Marauder. I shot this target prone, with a bipod. A bit more distance. I had loaned it to a friend and wanted to make sure it was still good scope wise. I was surprised by some erratic flyers. It then settled into the nice group in the center.

Here are the two rifles. I had about 20 minutes to spend with the four guns. It was fun. It's been a while since I've had that much time to shoot.

Great to see a DD Range Report!! You've definitely got to carve out some time (a wee bit more than a 20-minute slot) and get to the range more often. I for one would especially look forward to your outing and report with your Henry Pump!! :)

Nice results on your targets, and good gun & pellet photos. Thanks for posting.

Glad you got in some quality trigger time. Those pellets are interesting. They look very heavy.

You can't beat a pellet gun for backyard fun. I didn't go to the range all summer but instead would go to my backyard and plink with pellets.
