Just home from work My 223 freedom seeds arrived. These are from Everglades Ammo. (55gr version 2) these are budget priced but very accurate. These are the ones I used in my 223 Wylde range report.. give them a try you won't be disappointed !

Firearm candy! I like the lighter bullets myself. Even shot a few 52 grain back in the day.

Eye candy indeed. Nothing prettier than a bag of bulk .224 bullets. I use the 55 grain for my bulk loading for fun shooting with my AR’s but my .223 bolt and my Mini-14 love 77 grain SMK’s. Enjoy planting those .223 seeds! :D

What twist does a 77 grain need?

Nice, have to give them a shot when I can find some small rifle primers.

Sierra recommends a 1 in 8 twist or faster but both my bolt gun (Savage M/12) and my Mini 14 are 1 in 9 twist. This 77 grain Sierra Matchking BTHP was designed for Service Rifle competition and is capable of being loaded to magazine length cartridges. Not an issue for my bolt gun but for my Mini this will be important. I’ll try to post a couple of pics of my results with this bullet. My Savage shoots one hole 5 shot groups using Varget and CCI small rifle match primers. I have not worked up a load for my Mini yet but I had a few different boxes of factory match ammo on hand which I ran thru the Mini. It like the Federal Gold Medal Match 77 gr SMK the best. I think I can improve on the Mini results with my hand loads. Both targets shot from a bench at 100 yards.

Load development target for the Savage (one of many but the winner which is marked #3, bottom left)

Thanks but most of the credit goes to the rifle and scope. 30” bull barrel and a 6-24x scope really helps. :D
