Nosler 30 Caliber 150 Grain E-Tip

Post by JEBar » Thu Jun 04, 2020 10:43 pm

I just received a notice from Shooter's Pro Shop that they have a limited number of boxes of 50 Nosler 30 Caliber 150 Grain E-Tip Blems in stock .... for those who may not be familiar with Nosler's E-Tips ===> http://www.shootersproshop.com/nosler-e ... 433f522abf

"Upon impact, Noslers exclusive E2 Cavity [Energy Expansion Cavity] allows for immediate and uniform expansion, yet retains 95% weight for improved penetration. The E2 Cavity provides amazing stopping power and peerless penetration over a broad spectrum of impact velocities, rivaling even the highest quality lead-core bullets."

they are solid copper bullets that meet the hunting requirements in states that don't allow lead bullets .... while they can be used in any 30 caliber rifle they are our preference for our 308's .... I've literally been waiting for over 2 years for SPS to get them in stock and have placed a substantial order .... during that time we have stocked up on 30 caliber 180 gr E-Tips which are prefer out of our 300 WBY and 165 or 167 gr'ers which we prefer out of our 30-06 .... as noted, completing our stock with 150's has been a long time in coming

Hello JEBar,

Do you have any thoughts on how they would perform in an M1 Garand and/or an '03 Springfield (mfg. 1918). For nearly 20yearsI have been loading 165 gr. Hornady BTSP's atop 46 grs. of Accurate 2520 for both rifles. I'm looking for something lighter and these Nosler's sound interesting. Thank You.

I see no reason they shouldn't do just fine .... Nosler also has both 168 and 167 gr 30 caliber E-Tips .... we use them in our 30-06's .... another good thing about them is you can practice with the same grain Nosler Ballistic Tip which when purchased from SPS are even cheaper .... after sighting in with Ballistic Tips I've never needed more than a one click adjustment to zero the E-Tips

In my Springfield 03A3 and Ruger#1B, I've loaded 52.0gr IMR4064 with very good results. Excellent accuracy and MV avg 2900 fps. Sorry, can't help with the Garand. E-tip's are a very good bullet.
