I found a box of the Speer .308 125 TNT-HP that BigAl suggested I try in my 300 Blackout. So yesterday I assembled quite a few using three different powders loading 3-4 loads of each. I’ll be grouping these Speer’s along with some Hornady’s I loaded earlier. Way overkill for what I plan with this rifle but hey, that’s part of the fun! :D

Looks good Hatch. I will be anxiously awaiting the results of those TNT bullets. How much 296?

I started at 14.5 and went as far as 17.0. My Hornady manual shows 17.5 as max so I stayed just under that. Interesting that Sierra shows 19.0 as max and 16.2 as min. Big difference between the two. I’m using CCI 0041 primers which are considered a magnum primer and my COAL is 2.10 which seems to be the sweet spot according to many who have posted online. Plan is to hit the range tomorrow and give all a try.

I found the same info with 296 as it was all over the board. I had better luck with no issues pushing it over the 17gr. I also read on line with several guys doing the same thing that running it over 17 was better accuracy. Im not sure where I was at as I am away as you know.

My LGS has good amount of powder but still no primers. They had 8 lbs Unique for $249 but I have enough.

Back ordered 500 cases of 45 colt 3 days ago and they arrived on my porch about an hour ago. I am clearing my bench to load some up using 200grn Beery's made for 45acp with a hollow base. They mike .452 at the olgive and .454 at the base. They shoot well in my 1911's so I think I will give it a try. I am going to start with 6.5grns to 7grns of Unique. looking for a good light load for my 92.

Here’s a link to my report. Let me know if you would like more specific info as my report is pretty general. On my next Speer 125 test I’m going to take the 296 above 17 grains as it’s been reported that accuracy gets better with a faster load.
