Must be something in the air. I went out to my loading area, kinda looked around and thought, naw, not today. Briefly straightened up the bench and piddling around to make my wife think I'm actually doing something productive. We'll see how that goes. :?

I have one of the later "smokless powder " versions of that revolver. Funny thing about it, the double action pull seems easier than the single action. I am sure you know this but keep your loads very light for the old top break. If you have some OO buck pellets you can use them for projectiles to make a light plinking load. Use just about a .22 short case full of Bullseye or Red Dot and shove the round ball against it.
Since mine is an early "First model" dating to 1895, I will be loading black powder exclusively.
Mine is also a DAO having a completely shrouded hammer.

Does yours have a transfer bar? Mine does and that just shows that Ruger had nothing new under the sun. I think that the round ball loads would work with FFFg. Also don't forget to use a black powder bullet lube. Good shooting.

Have no idea how old it is, I've had it quite a spell.

primed some 44mag cases, Loaded up 50x 44mag cartridges with cast bullets noe 265gr noe rnfp .432 for my henry. Sized, gaschecked and lubed the same noe bullets to .431 for my ruger sbh 10.5" to try next weekend, .432 shoots extremly well but are oversized for the cylinderthroat so trying same bullet with .431. Also loaded up some 265gr Saeco rnfp cast bullets aswell, to see wich performs best. Have a magnum bullseye championship in our shootingclub soon. :D

Well, I started yesterday afternoon loading some 45 colts, the 250 gr. RFN #1 Cowboys from MB over 8.5 grs. of Unique.
These shoot well out of the Rossi and the Cimmaron.
I had loaded 30+ when the oldest daughter called and wanted to know if I wanted to meet up and have a couple adult beverages.

So this morning I finished up 50 of those and loaded 25 more using MB's 200 gr. RN oddballs, over 6.5 grs. of Red dot.
Got 25 more expanded and after this little coffee break I'll finish those.

Who knows, I might load something else when I finish those.

Well, I did finish the 45's and then, sized, primed, and loaded 50 357's with MB co. 180 gr Pugnose over 11.4 grs. of 2400.
Found a small stash of 41 and 44 mag brass that is already primed, guess I'll stuff the 44's with the 240 gr. Smashers with some Unique also.
Might as well, while I'm at it. ;)
