Nothing yet. I am planning to get to the range a couple mornings next week to shoot up last years hunting loads. I plan to load some 270AI 85gr Barnes bullets for a pronghorn hunt. For pigs and hogs, I will load up 45 Colt, 45-70, 44 mag. I have trusted and true loads for them. No need to change. Dead is dead.

KMB, a buddy of mine likes that 405 cast over 24 grs. of 2400.

I loaded up some 140 gr. blems with 3 different powders to try in the Savage 6.5 Creed.
Try and shoot 'em one afternoon this week.

I do, I just picked this one up right after the first of the year, and played with it a little.
It's got some reach, not that I need it in most places I hunt but what da heck.
And little recoil, nothing like the -06 of even that ole 45-70 that so many like. :o  ;)
And one the grandsons can play with before long. ;) Hopefully. That was one of my main reason for it.

KMB, I am sorry I didn't get back to you on what I use for hogs. I like hard cast lead 405gr flat heads with either 30-31 grs of IMR 3031 or IMR 4198 43gr for 1870fps. this load will get your attention. You can go up to 46 grs if your a self abuser. My load will flat slap the Heaven out of any hog. I have shot several 300 lbs + boars with either of those loads. Good luck on finding a place to hunt. They sure are fun to stalk.

Loaded 20 rds. of 38-55 using a 255 gr RFN bullet half,
with 10 grs. Unique, and the other with 7.5 grs. Trail Boss.
I know what the Unique load can do, but I've never tried the TB.
Something to shoot in between the 6.5 test rds. ;)

Do you have a 38-55 Henry? I don't see or hear about that round much. Looks like that would have some range -

No sir, I have a Marlin Cowboy with the 24" octagon barrel.
The previous owner of it, a good friend, he used it to ring gongs out to 900+ yds. :D
I've not shot it that far. ;)
I wouldn't mind a Henry to compare with this Marlin, but
I don't care for the carved stock that comes on that model.🤮
Been thinking about one of the single shot 30-30's, and then sending it to JES to have rebored to 38-55. :o ;)
I contacted him the other day about the idea, and he said no problem.
