Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I went on the high end of this since it's for the rifle. So 9.5BigAl52 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 10:33 amHow much HS-6 are you using under those?Kissmybrass wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 10:58 pmLoaded up my very first .357 magnums for my brassie rifle

"Heck, I don't even remember ordering it". Randy, been there, done that. Probably more than once.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
I will be interested to see how it shoots for you. I have a 7 or 8 lbs of HS-6 and have been using it in 40 S&W and 357. I came up with 9.2 grains for my loads under a Roze Dist. Zero bullet 158 gr HP.Kissmybrass wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 10:41 amI went on the high end of this since it's for the rifle. I'm curious myself. I wrote Henry about the CUP and pressure (since the max seemed high) allowances on the Big Boy Classic and they wrote me a nice note back ....BigAl52 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 11:01 amI will be interested to see how it shoots for you. FROM HENRY
We do not rate our guns by chamber pressures; however, in general Big Boys chambered for .357 Magnum can use any reputable, good-quality brands of factory standard or +P loads of .357 Magnum, or .38 Special 158 gr., with standard profile bullets (lead or semi-jacketed round-nose, semi-jacketed or jacketed flat-nose and hollow-point).
FMJ bullets are ok if they have flat tips or noses, or hollow points. Round noses are OK with soft-point bullets (non-FMJ).
If the ammunition you are considering meets these criteria, you may use it in your Henry rifle, with either the brass or the steel receiver. If you have any doubt, contact the ammunition manufacturer to verify if it meets the proper criteria.
Hogdon's data is for hand loading, and we do not recommend hand-loaded ammo due to greater risk of possible variations/errors and safety issues, in the case of improper reloading resulting in out-of-spec ammunition. If you choose to use hand-loaded ammunition anyway, make sure the resulting ammunition conforms to SAAMI specs for that type.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Ok. Loaded up 10 each of 7.0gr Unique, 7.0gr Universal, 7.5gr BE-86 and 14.0gr 2400. All with T&B 250gr coated rnfp's. Something there ought to work. And, I'll work on my trigger pull. I think that could be an issue.
