30-30 Berry's plated

150 gr Berry,s plated, 0ver mid load of H4895
Chronoed a 22 in barreled Zane Grey Century (Micro-groove rifeling) and a 24 inch barreled XLR with Ballard rifeling.

50fps faster in the 24 inch barrel. Interesting.
I want to get 1700 fps.

Actually good catch using H4895.
No, it well between Hodgdons max cast lead load (For a 165 gr bullet) and min 155 gr jacketed load?

that being the case, step the charge up a bit and see if it delivers the speed along with performance you are looking for

I use a Lee Factory Crimp.
I've been shooting the Barry's for 357 158's and 125's into the 1400fps+ with no issues.

FWIW Berry's puts a MAX of 1500 FPS on their heavy plated bullets.
Berry's max recommended velocity is not exceeded. (This info is displayed on bullet boxes and product webpages.)
Standard Plate Bullets Max Velocity: 1,250 fps.
Thick-Plate Bullets (TP) Max Velocity: 1,500 fps.
I looked into this when I was thinking of going to 110 Gr plated for my .30-30 loads.

Might be a consideration before pushing to 1700 FPS.

Ive shot both Berrys and xtreme and pushed them a bit. Never have had any issues to date.

I 'll be going to the range Tuesday to do so chrono work.
New loads in 25-20, 30-30 and 35rem.
