What size - diameter - cast bullet works best in the Henry 45 colt?

.452", Missouri LRNFP. That is what I use in my Henry BB steel.

I use Missouri Bullet Company as well, their "Cowboy #1 Hy-Tech," which is their 250 gr, coated LRNFP. Less lead fouling, pre-lubed, shoots great. Almost through my first box of 500 with no issues.

You can always slug the barrel and measure with a micrometer. Then you'll know. You can buy barrel slugs from Beartooth bullets or use a pure lead egg sinker with a hole in the center and drive it through. Now I don't have a Henry but I have found a lot of firearms shoot better with a thou over bore with cast bullets. So .453" not that a .452" won't work because it sure will but you may see leading or get better accuracy with a slightly larger bullet diameter. I run .453" in my Blackhawks.

Our bore diameter for .45Colt is .442 with a .450 groove diameter.
As there is a +/- tolerance, only slugging the bore gives you the exact figure
