Today , casting 60 bullets in brinell 15.
I think that it is a medium hardness , it's probably good to shoot , i will verify later, when i receive carbine
at the same time, the molding of a 10 sticks to feed the rcbs lube-a-matic,
and the molding of wax bars and grease for later use (15 pounds) ...
the modl is degrased before every use, and greased after ...
Two test set are finished, lead and jacketed


if it was again, I'm not sure I would have ordered the model brass lever action 45-70! Too difficult to get one ...
ok, but I'm not yet ready to give up and order a marlin 45-70 SBL

Meanwhile, I'm building my ammo stock ....
when i have done the tests with the hardnesses and loads, then i will reload all the brass and bullets with the most suitable charge, and will cast all the lead alloy to the good hardness.
The idea is to have 50 rounds every week to shoot at the range, at en affordable cost (versus the caliber)

nice looking work .... I'm sure they will perform well .... just curious, has the source from who you have ordered the rifle given you any indication as to the cause of the delay or a projected date to be able to have one for you

The German gunsmith who I ordered says that there are very few models 45-70 built, and less than the version "brass lever action" ...
I think that importation into Europe is done in the drop ...
he has no date to offer me, but I know that wait 6 months is quite common here ...
Here we find quite commonly the H010 model (round barrel and metal color), but I never see the proposed H010B on the sites of French internet armory ....
Many model 30-30, and because of the gun legislation, it is complicated "to buy a big boy 357 or 45 because ammunition is then classified in categories B, difficult to provide!
(The big boy model would have liked me too and less expensive than 45-70 ...)

the H010 model is a fine rifle .... it does have the advantages of being just over a pound lighter and having a recoil pad that really comes in handy when firing full power loads .... I know you are anxious to get yours in house .... I can assure you that there are a bunch of folks over on this side of the pond looking forward to hearing your range and use reports

I feel your pain, it took me 8 months from ordering to getting my hands on my 327FM here in Australia.

I may have changed to H010,
but even though I did not pay any money at the moment, I gave my word to the German gunsmith,
so I can not change now, except if he tells me that he will not be able to have it ...
a word is a word, I must respect it...

looks good, hope you get the rifle in soon. I think you will be happy with the brass receiver, mighty classy looking rifle. those reloads look like they will do the job

Those will be just perfect for the big 45-70 the hardness is good for the pressure you are shooting.
