.357 130 gr. FMJ
Has anyone had any experience handloading this bullet in .357 magnum? I know they're commonly used in .38 special, but I'd like to try them in 357.

no experience with them, for 38 spec/357 mag we load 158 gr .... how do you plan to use these bullets ?? .... I see no reason why they wouldn't be fine for punching holes in paper

Thanks for the reply, JEBar. I only punch holes. I would also prefer to use 158 gr JSPs, too; but I'm out, with a backorder in process. I currently have 125 gr. JSPs and, shortly, an inventory of 130 FMJs.

for punching holes, as long as they can be made to go where I want them to go, I shoot the cheapest bullets I can find

Hey, CT. Although I don't reload my own bullets yet (but will be), I do shoot quite a lot of reloads using both .38 special brass and .357 brass with a premium Berry Bullet: .38/.357 125 gr Flat Point.
I've shot these out of my Henry BBB and SP101, and they are good target rounds for me. I have a small supply of these bullets already, and plan to start my reloading with them.
Here's the home page for Berry: https://www.berrysmfg.com/

That's what I do, too. I actually have a couple hundred 158 gr. XTPs, but they're too expensive to waste on paper. I'll save those for some future time when I may have a need for something better. These ZERO 130 gr. FMJs cost less than a dime each.JEBar wrote:...I shoot the cheapest bullets I can find
Thanks, PT7. I considered Berry's, too. But, the 130 gr. FMJs are jacketed, not plated, so I can load them to shoot at higher velocities than the Berry's and I think they cost about the same, though I could be wrong. I bought these from Roze Distributors with free shipping.PT7 wrote:... There was shipping included in my purchase price of the Berry Bullets. I got them through Natchez Shooters Supplies back in 2014. The bullet cost was 8.2 cents each. With shipping calculated in, these .38/.357 125 gr Flat Points were 9 cents/bullet. That was about the best price I could find at that time. I haven't checked current prices because have plenty left to reload yet.
