Took my bags and 50 rounds of the 110gr XTPs/8.5gr Unique to the range, and, after fiddling with a couple of distances (25 & 50 yds), adjusting the scopes, struggling with the bags (need a proper rear bag), I ended up with the 3 Final Five Round Groups below.
The last group of the day is in the middle, and I'm okay with that, BUT, I'm thinking 9.5gr of Unique might tighten them up. So will a new rear bag (I'm using a photography car window bag, and it is NOT good). I've got the new rounds loaded and will get the bag this week and head back out.
Given today's outcome, I think I can get there.

We'll see, JEB! In the most unscientific way, I'm going to introduce two new variables, one being another grain of powder, the other being a better rear bag.

Beyond that, I'm wanting to start playing with my Hornady 158 gr XTPs. What do you think about H110 in that scenario? A couple of weights to start with? Will a half-grain of 110 make any difference, or am I better just moving in 1 grain increments?

sorry, don't know how much it would take to really tell a difference .... with H110 for 158 gr bullets, we us 15.9 grs and have done so since the mid 60's .... it performs well in both our Ruger GP100's and Henry BBS ....

I use Accurate 9 and TrueBlue in my .357 loads. I can't really tell that much difference in either powder. I do know that the 9 kicks a bit more in the Ruger GP.

I'll look it up in my manuals and see where 15.9 gr of H110 sits in the spectrum of recommendations, but thanks for the guidance. If it's worked for you since the mid-60s, sounds like it's hard to argue with. Appreciate it!
