Starline
Have to give a shout out for Starline brass, I ordered Monday afternoon and it was on my doorstep when I came home from work today. That's quick and the quality looks really good too. Now that I'm reloading I'm that much more in love with my 41 mags.
Re: Starline
Starline is the best.
Funny how those little brass tubes make us reloaders happy.

Re: Starline
I got no complaints at all about Starline brass. I have some in both .357 and .38 special. Some of my .357 brass has been reloaded more times than I can count. I have ruined some of them here and there during the reloading process, but none of mine have failed split or otherwise failed in a gun.

Re: Starline
thankfully, they offer brass in all of the calibers we reload .... over time we've gotten to the point that if we buy new brass, we don't even consider another source

Re: Starline
Once Starline is heavily invested in rifle cartridges....they will be the industry leader for cartridge cases. Cartridge case manufactures like Norma, Lapua, Hornady, Winchester, Remington and the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) should start paying attention to Starline. One....Starline sales there cartridge cases at a very reasonable and affordable price point which that price point also includes FREE shipping. Two....there quality is top notch and if it's not....they will make it right. There primer pockets and flash holes are within SAAMI/ANSI spec and there uniform. I have used a primer pocket gage on several of the companies cartridge case that I mentioned above and cant believe a primer even fit inside of the primer pocket (Lake City). Burr's in the flash hole and flash holes being off center. Lake City cartridge cases are "JUNK" and I cant believe the DOD (Department Of Defense) allows the junk I have seen. I have seen primer pockets being .025" (25 thousands) out of spec and the flash holes off center by .060" (60 thousands). Norma, Lapua and Hornady have a high standard for quality in there cartridge cases but there price points are high and are not very reasonable in my opinion....plus you have to pay shipping from online vendors. Thank goodness we can order straight from the Starline factory and get FREE shipping. Starline cartridge case length and wall thickness are uniform as well. Norma and Lapua fall in this same category as well....top quality. As for Hornady....there quality is top notch but the price point is higher than the normal reloader is willing to pay. Winchester and Remington are some what ok for quality. I've had to return some cartridge cases to both companies. For an example....brand new cartridge cases with split necks and body walls with a heavy dents in them....should have been caught by there quality inspector. But....I don't think there quality department 100% sorts there cartridge cases like Starline does. Have never had an issue with Starline brass. It is the only brand that I buy new. I have bought once-fired (supposedly) brass occasionally at gun shows.

Re: Starline
I've never had an issue with Starline brass cartridge cases. I've had the occasionally ding/bent in the case wall or a case mouth (neck) with a dent in it. But....nothing with a crease in the dent....which in time....the crease will fail at that spot. The only thing that I've found that really isn't a problem on my end....would be too many cartridge cases in the order. The most I've received in one of my order's....one order had 10 cartridge cases too many in it. To my knowledge (I've searched and found nothing)....Starline does not give extra cartridge cases with there orders to compensate for bad cartridges cases found in the each caliber order. For me....I will continue to order from Starline. I have "NO" affiliation/association with Starline. I just like there cartridge cases and I'm a very happy customer...!!!Steve51 wrote:Have never had an issue with Starline brass. It is the only brand that I buy new. Last Christmas (2016), I gave my father a Henry Big Boy Steel chambered in 44 Magnum for a Christmas present. With that Henry rifle....I gave him 300 rounds. 200 rounds was for target/plinking shooting and 100 rounds was for deer hunting. All 300 of them cartridge cases....came from Starline. This up coming deer season....I've built my brother a 100 rounds for his 44 magnum rifle and you guessed it....the cartridge cases came from Starline.

Re: Starline
Glad to hear that the Starline brass is quality stuff. I don't reload, and took a chance on buying some for my son-in-law, and a friend here on our Henry Forum. Both seem quite pleased with the product, as is "verified" by comments in this thread.
Rugerboy mentioned quality control issues at the LCAAP. That plant is less than an hour from me here in MO, and I read in our local news reports that they had a bad time of it a week ago. There was an explosion in the primer building, one 55-year-old fellow was killed, 4 others injured. Plant is now shut down. With all the various reports I've read lately, it sounds like this ammo plant needs some focused safety inspections, along with addressing the quality control Rugerboy notes. Tough stuff...

Re: Starline
Star-Line is the only place I could find .327 Federal magnum cases, and they were reasonably priced.
I bought 500 cases when I bought my SP101 in .327, but now I have a .327fed/mag Big Boy steel on the way (whenever they decide to release them), so I may need to add to that count.

Re: Starline
Starline makes very nice brass at an affordable price. So does Lapua, it's just not affordable!
