Are cast round nose bullets safe to use in the tubular magazine of my 357 Big Boy?

I wonder the same thing, but I stick with lead flat nose for the rifle and use LRN in my revolver.

sounds like a good question to ask Henry Customer Service

Round nose bullets should be fine to shoot from a tubular magazine.
Nothing pointy (Spitzer), unless it has a polymer tip, like the Hornady LeverEvolution.

I shot some 38 special RN bullets today. They were old factory loads, some lead and some look like plated bullets. I know they were old because the price on the box was $5.50 for 50. I also emailed Henry too. Thanks for the help.

I heard from Henry today. They said "you can use all types of bullets except FMJ. RN is OK.

Good news, cuz I bought a whole bunch of factory ammo at a sale price....all LRN. Was going to just use it in the revolver, but will shoot in rifle too.

I've put over 100,000 round nose in 4 different tube feed lever guns in different cal in the last 20 yrs without any problems . In a lever gun they feed best and 90% of the CAS/SASS use RN bullets .

I'm switching all my guns to the TC design bullet in lever and bottom feed guns . This bullet design feed smooth and flawlessly in all lever and bottom feeders and is made in most cal like 9mm , 38 , 40 and 45 . This 180 TC has the same POI as the Factory ammo .



If you like to roll crimp this is a good design in 38 and in super hot hunting loads this crimp is best .

I just shot my first 50 rounds of Remington 250 gr Lead Round Nose in the rifle and I'll tell you what, they shot great. Feed was smooth, and they left some large exit wounds in the target board. They are not completely round, but flattened off a little. No issues, I'll shoot them anytime.
They are also $5/box cheaper here than the Winchesters. I intend to clean out my LGS next week.
