With the cold windy weather yesterday I stayed in most of the day and got some more things packed away in my room so I will have a jump on things when the work on the foundation repairs get started. I got some nice boxes that office paper comes in with lids on them and labeled them with what is in them so if I need something I can locate it fairly easy. So while I was doing that I got some 222 cases out and loaded a 100 more to have ready later and make use of the time sitting at home. I use Remington nickel plated cases for the 222 to avoid getting them mixed up with 223 loads. Loaded them with my usual load of H4895 and 55 gr. Sierra bullet. I have about 200 or so loaded now for the 222 Sako and that should be good for a while.

the "triple-deuce" is an interesting caliber .... no recoil but pretty dang good impact .... I know a few people who deer hunt with them but I've never been able to convince myself to do so .... shot placement is important but with light bullets on deer size game its critical .... rather than being a good caliber for new hunters, to my way of thinking, it to be more appropriate for use by skilled hunters

I just sold my 222 I built in the 80's to shoot benchrest in my old age . Got too old too fast .

Love that great old 222 of a cartridge, too. Have to laugh when I run into young shooters at our range with their ARs who have never even heard of it. Guess it means I'm getting old.

Very nice bench rest rifle. I always liked the XP100/600 Remington "dog leg" bolt handle. My 222 Sako is a "hunter rifle." Nice rifle to carry in the woods not so much for bench shooting. It shoots good for a light weight. This is what my 222 does best.
