9mm

Post by BigAl52 » Sun Oct 05, 2025 8:46 pm

If you reload do you reload for 9mm or do you buy 9 mm already loaded. Just curious to see how many reload for this caliber

What price point do you shoot for? Ive got powder Ive had for a while and could probably beat today’s replacement cost. But for me even though Ive had some supplies for a while I base it on current replacement cost

I have the dies and components, and have loaded some, but it's been several years now since I have. That was several years ago when the availability of said ammo was sad. It's now cheaper and easier to get. And I don't even remember the last time I even shot one. I gave one to the oldest a few years ago and the others are just collecting dust.

Got a Ruger PC and a couple of pistols that I like to shoot one being a 1911. I love 1911’s and I wish I would of grabbed a few more. The other one is a CZ TS 2 it is sigle action like a 1911 with a great trigger on it

I have the components, and have a good bit reloaded, but right now the bulk prices are really good...
I have been shooting my Echelon a bit, but still don't see the need to reload 9mm... the components will be there when / if the need arises.

I do both. A few years ago when it looked like ammo might be hard to come by I loaded up on a bunch of factory 9mm. But when I shoot I shoot my reloads as they have little market value unlike the factory ammo. I just invested in another 500 Berry’s plated bullets and a couple of thousand small pistol primers and I have lots of powder and brass on hand. I’m getting low on my reloads so this winter will assemble more.

I shoot two 9mm’s, a Springfield 1911 and a CZ 75. The CZ hated my Hornady XTP loads but loves the Berrys. (Bullet profile most likely) So I just stick to the Berrys for casual plinking as I have three boxes of G9 Woodsman on hand if I want to carry a 9mm in the woods.

Under 10 bucks a box for 147. If it is over that I reload. Even now I seem to find it every once in a while under 10. So, at that point, loading a couple of K on a turret press isn't as appealing to me.

With several SBR's that have 30 and 40 round mags, it's pretty easy to go through several thousand rounds a year.

I dont see it for under 10 a box here. Or even on ammoseek for that matter. Ive tried to buy some today online and price was 7.20 a box until you got to the shipping section where they wanted 110.00 to ship it

I can reload for 9mm kurst and did when 380 ammo prices were higher than reloading costs. At today's prices the ammo is about 8-10c lower than what I can reload for.
I've had the powder and components for a while and when I compare today's ammo cost to what I actually paid a few years ago for reloading, it's a wash. Since the money for reloading is already spent I'll likely continue to reload for it until I start to run out of powder. Now if I was low on brass, I'd buy the ammo for the brass. Fortunately I have plenty of brass.

Watch Ammunition Depot, they normally have free shipping if your order is over $149
and they always have sales on 9mm among other things.
I have ordered a number of things from them and not been disappointed.
The 7.62 pmc has been very accurate.

I’ve been getting regular emails from them. They have good prices but right now the free shipping is not going on if you purchase over 149.00. It was when I first started getting their email but it has gone away. Thanks BOM

It comes and goes. Right now you can save five to six percent on your purchase.
Depending on the shipping and the size of the order, it might help a good bit.

I watch were I buy from because I wont pay the anti gun excise tax the local thieves want to charge. I see now most online sales places have caved to it and are charging it. I'll buy when I go to Texas USA and bring it home. Im also not far from Cheyenne and can drive up there. I will gladly give the money to support gun shops in Wyoming. We have very few left here. They have all closed up with the new laws.
